Scooby Doo is always a good buy. My 8 year old Granddaughter realy likes them and they do not cost very much second hand.

3 out of 5 stars A Different Concept for Scooby   March 29, 2004

As I thorougly enjoyed Scooby Doo - Night of a 100 Frights, I had high expectations for this game. I was a little disappointed when I started playing as Mystery Mayhem as it was not a platform game as I had expected, rather it was more of an adventure game where your control of the characters is limited. This time you played as both Scooby and Shaggy and basically lead them round various areas figuring out how to complete tasks.

As with most games Scooby Doo! Mystery Mayhem has its good and bad points.

Pros -
Good graphics
Plenty of video clips
Some challenging puzzles
The ability to unlock 5 mini games

Cons -
Limited control of characters
Repetitive aspects of some challenges (i.e. Mine cart ride that seems to last so long it becomes a little boring)
Length of the game, I think the game could of been longer and slightly more challenging at the end
The game lacks the ability to re-visit previous areas to collect items you may have missed

Overall, this is a OK game. I had fun playing it while it lasted but would say that Scooby Doo - Night of a 100 Frights is far superior.

If you are a Scooby fan, I would recommend buying this game as you will enjoy it as long as your expectations are not too high. It is definately worth a play but don't expect a similar game to the Night of a 100 Frights.

4 out of 5 stars 4 Scooby Snacks Out Of 5!!!   March 27, 2004

This is a fab game for all you Scooby fans. You take on the role of Scooby and Shaggy as you take them through five different episodes filled with ghosts, boogermen and poltergeists. But you are not completely helpless, you have the Tome of Doom book that allows you to capture ghosts and trap them so they can't come back. With puzzles and laughs a minute this is a great game for all ages. So if you love Scooby (or if you don't love Scooby) then go out and buy this now!!! The graphics are much better than Scooby Doo Night Of 100 Frights. So grab your Scooby Snacks and get ready for the game that will keep you laughing from start to finish.
