3 out of 5 stars It seems the Playstation is prone to medocire games... And this is one of them.   August 23, 2009

I remember bouncing off the walls with enthusiasm to play when I got this game when back in the early millenium when i was a little kid, and it remain stuck in my memory as it was my first trip to my local BlockBuster. (Which sadly has now shut. Memories *sniff sniff* ) You can imagine how happy I was when I realised that my ex-girlfriend had a copy she could let me borrow.

So I played it again. And felt a little saddened that this... was medoicre at best.

One of the main problems I have with this game is that it is waaaay too easy to do, and it seems to follow a set pattern of defeat bad guys, defeat boss, next stage. Which it is extremely linear and boring.

The controls were crippled in awkward places, it often took several attempts to do a certain section of a leavel to get it right... losing lives... adding frustration.

The camera does not rotate to give you a better perspective of the games, which is incredibly annoying as, like above, it takes several attempts to jump platforms. And your accuracy has to be dead on, otherwise, your pretty much dead.

The aiming controls are crippled to say the least and extremely awkwardly laid out.

The on screen help given is just really annoying, its more like "YES! YOUVE TOLD ME FOR THE 10TH TIME! CAN I PLAY THE DAMN GAME NOW!?", so, I just ignore it and work it out.

On the plus side, the cutscenes voiceovers are extremely good, which had I not known better probably would have been ported from the actual movie itself. Excellent job.

Overall? A bit bland in places, but THQ certainly did a good job of turning this movie into a game.

4 out of 5 stars Worth buying.....   March 9, 2008

The gameplay is fairly simple and a little like Crash in that you have to bounce on boxes etc to smash them in order to collect burgers which restore your energy and also pies which you throw at the baddies to kill them. There are a number of different areas, for example you are in Japan and then Egypt and in each area there are 3 levels to complete, the 3rd of which requires you to kill one of the baddies before you can move on. The graphics are quite good on this game and the characters are realistic too, but you only get to play as either Scooby or Shaggy. I would say the negatives are that you very rarely get killed by any of the baddies during the levels as you see them so far in advance that they rarely get close enough to kill you, you have plenty of time to take aim and fire one of your pies at them, this therefore makes the game fairly simple, you are more likely to get killed jumping and moving around. On the plus side you constantly get help from the other members of Scooby's gang who basically tell you how to get past each stage and after completing each level you are able to save your progress which I always like.
I wouldn't recommend this game for the serious gamer but it's definitely ok for kids or if you're just after a bit of fun but if it's challenging gameplay that you want then I think you would find this disappointing but overall it's worth buying if you can pick up a copy for a couple of quid

THIS IS A SUPER GREAT GAME WITH EASY -CHALLENGING GAMEPLAY, GOOD FOR KIDS AND ADULTS ALIKE. THIS REALLY SHOWS HOW GOOD THE OLD PLAYSTATION 1 WAS/IS. THE GRAPHICS ARE NEARLY AS GOOD AS A NEWLY RELEASED GAME, SOMETIMES BETTER THAN A FEW XBOX 360 GRAPHICS, MOVES WELL, NO GLICHES, GOT THIS ON A WHIM FOR MY 4 YEAR OLD DAUGHTERS BDAY BUT FIND I PLAY IT JUST AS MUCH. HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED.

at first glance i did not rate this game at all, until i saw my twoyoungest daughters playing the game it makes them think it through andinteract with each other, brilliant if the older child is a bit lazy likemine the younger one keeps her on her toes.
