Good balance June 23, 2010 Gadget Freak (Wales) I bought this book for my impending honeymoon to Bali and it is exactly what I wanted. I did not want a massive LP guide which I probably would nto ahve read, nor did I want the flimsy 10 page effort with a map some companies are peddling. This strikes the eprfect balance. Its pocket size with maps of each area. The author give a bit on each area and some local knowledge and recommend some restaurants amd sights etc. It is just right. Well worth the price and excellent for a holiday with some suggested itneries depending on length of stay. If you are travelling or want to explore Bali more seriously the full size guide may be of better use.
Ideal for your bag July 8, 2009 M. Harding (Hampshire UK) Compact little book, although not terribly informative (due to size) it's small size makes it ideal for carrying around with you and gives basics advice and tips.
ok, but only as a pocket guide after arrival July 6, 2009 V. Infante I have yet to make it to Bali. There are a lot of questions which I need answered, particularly with regards to hotels which cannot be answered by this guide. I presume it will become handy once I arrive since it is very small and easy to refer to whilst on the run.
Good little book May 6, 2009 Gemma Halpin 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I have wanted to go to Indonesia for a while and have 3 weeks. After looking at the Indonesia lonely planet decided Bali was the best place for my holiday. I ordered this book based on the 1st review and can say I am also pleased, as it is really going to help me plan my trip:
I am not on a package holiday, but I am also not backpacking (which is what the main lonely planet guide books are great for). I have my flight booked, and have found lots of lovely places to stay on various websites. Where I was a bit stuck with was where to go. That is were this book has helped. It gives informative summaries of various areas in Bali, and has bullet points pointing out what these areas are best for.
The book will also be very useful when on holiday and is small enough not to tkae up all the room in my handbag.
Another good thing about this book is that it was published in 2009 so hopefully the information will be up to date.
Perfect! April 30, 2009 Karen Livingston (UK) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This little guide book contains everything needed for a trip to Bali. It covers everything you need to know, and even recommends itineraries for different length stays.
and it's the perfect size for a handbag or your pocket, which, given that i'd expect it to be bigger was a pleasant surprise!
