These Stories Never Fail......... March 2, 2010 Mrs. M. A. Hardy to keep me on the edge of my seat and I never want to stop reading, always waiting to see what happens next. The romantic side is what thrills me most, you kind of know that the couple in question are going to end up together but the danger and heartbreak they go through until they are forever united is always exciting and you're never really sure. All through the novel you are willing for it to turn out right, but you have to keep reading to find out!!
Lots of fun - again October 18, 2009 Flesch Maker (Lancashire, UK) Sherrilyn Kenyon has produced another very good book in the Dark Hunter series. The interaction of the hero and heroine are as good as ever and we get another glimpse into the oh so mysterious leader of the hunters and a better understanding of his Simi. I would like to jump all the next books to the one on Anachreon (spelling?) but the books are too good to skip.
Definately worth reading.
Interesting, but not historically accurate. July 29, 2008 A. Rose (England) I am a fan of the Dark Hunter series, and enjoyed this book as much as the others. However, as with many Sherrilyn Kenyon books, there is very little historical accuracy. As a history studant this is a real bug bear, especially when it comes to pre-Roman Britain. Where to begin... Talon is suppossed to be from North England somewhere: the location is not specified. If this were so he would NOT worship the Morrigan. She was a goddess isolated to Ireland, and not worshiped in England. Likewise, the Name Morrigantee is there fore invalid. Another thing was the alliance between his tribe and the Gauls. The Gauls were located in France, no way in hell would a tribe in Northern England be that concerned with them, it just makes no sense, as does the idea of Talon running off to go slaughter them in one day.
However, I am aware that not everyone is as interested or as anal about such things as me, and so, it is a good book if you arn't interested in this.
Awseome series! May 2, 2006 Jem (MD, USA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
The Dark-Hunter series takes a new look at vampires. The backstory is richly woven, brining in the greek pantheon and a mythos all it's own. This is the third title in the series.
Also, the hardcover editions from Piatkus books are beautiful, solid publications. The dust jacket designs complement the series pefectly (being mostly black:) On the spine of each book in the series is the Artemis/Dark-Hunter double bow and arrow, below the title. The print size is reasonably sized. These are well worth the price (and the shipping for those outside of the UK). Though this is out of stock at Amazon, you can still get it directly from the publisher.
great stuff June 5, 2005 Penny Harvey (England) 22 out of 24 found this review helpful
I sorta tripped over this - you know the feeling nothing to read and decided to give this a try.Read any of these Dark Hunter novels and leave your sane, analytical part of brain in bed, get rid of anything male, settle down and have a really good read. You might start off thinking Buffy or Blade - but don't worry - you'll soon forget all about them - these are very sexy books. The men are sooooo sexy it make you wanna weep - yes it's full of vampires and demons and things that go bump, it stretches the imagination more than once, but they are well put together, great characters - and lots of them (means lots more books!!) and, for what it's worth, I thoroughly enjoyed the ones I have read. Well worth a read - just a shame that they are quite difficult to get hold of!
